New home builders on the Sunshine Coast
Looking for new home builders on the Sunshine Coast who'll be honest about whether your block is one we should take on? Oakridge Living is a family-run builder working across Brisbane through to the Sunshine Coast, with a particular focus on the hinterland and the southern Coast.
Why choose Oakridge Living for a Sunshine Coast new home
“Same standards whether the build is in Strathpine or in the hinterland behind Maleny.”
Here's the honest version. We build across the whole region, but the Sunshine Coast is one part of a broader service area. What we will do is have a frank conversation about your block, your timeline, and whether we're the right builder for the job. If we aren't, we'll say so.
We are properly licensed and fully insured, with around 40 years of combined building industry experience behind the team.
The project manager IS the builder. Not a remote supervisor running ten sites and dropping in once a fortnight. The same person walks the block with you, signs off the slab, and hands you the keys. On a Sunshine Coast build where the trip up from North Brisbane is real, that single point of contact removes most of the “who's actually running this job” risk.
Same standards whether the build is in Strathpine or in the hinterland behind Maleny. Built the way we'd build it for our own family.
Lower overheads than the volume builders, paired with long-standing trade and supplier relationships, means more of your budget reaches the actual house. Quality that holds its value matters even more on the Coast, where the buyer pool at resale is sophisticated and the climate is hard on a sloppy job.
What's included
How a Sunshine Coast new home build works
Because the Sunshine Coast is a focused part of our service area rather than our backyard, we run an extra step at the start: a feasibility chat. Does the location, the block, and the timeline work for us to manage the job properly from Brisbane? On most sites within the Sunshine Coast hinterland and the southern Coast, yes. On distant or unusually complex jobs, sometimes no, and we'll tell you up front. If we're a fit, the build runs the way every Oakridge Living job runs:
Site investigation:soil report, contour survey, engineering
Council and compliance:certifier and energy specialist coordinated
Engineered slab, structural framing
Lock-up:roof, external walls, windows, doors, decks where applicable
Fit-out:kitchen, bathrooms, ensuite, laundry, joinery
Finish:painting, flooring, fixtures, fittings per the agreed Inclusions
Handover:practical completion walk-through and keys
Standard plans
Our home designs, in a choice of facades
Our standard plans work well on Sunshine Coast blocks, across our facade styles: Hamptons, Horizon, Traditional, and Urban. For steeper hinterland blocks, a highset or fully custom design may suit better.
Marketing plans are available to browse here. Detailed dimensioned plans are sent after a chat, so we can match the right design to your block.

Strongest overlap is the Sunshine Coast hinterland: the country between our existing acreage work around Kilcoy, Mt Mee, D'Aguilar, and Woodford, and the higher Coast country running up toward Maleny, Mapleton, and the Blackall Range. That stretch of land is geographically closer to our North Brisbane base than people often realise, and the kind of acreage and highset work we already do every week translates directly to those blocks.
Closer to the coastline itself, we'll have the same case-by-case conversation. Some blocks and some clients will be a clear fit. Others will be better served by a builder with a permanent Coast crew, and we'll tell you so rather than stretch the job.
Granny flats, knockdown rebuilds, custom homes, duplex, and investment builds are all on the table where the location works. Granny flats, not just for grannies.
