Double storey home builders in Brisbane

Looking for double storey home builders in Brisbane who treat the project like it's their own? Oakridge Living is a family-owned, family-run builder working across Brisbane through to the Sunshine Coast, and a fair share of the homes we build go up instead of out.

Why choose Oakridge Living for your double storey home

The project manager IS the builder. The same face from first site visit through to the day we hand you the keys.

A second storey is often the smart call. It lets you keep yard space for the kids, fit a four or five-bedroom layout on a tighter block, and lift the living spaces up where the breeze actually moves through. For sloping lots in places like Samford, Dayboro, and the hilly parts of Albany Creek, going up is sometimes the only sensible option.

The team behind Oakridge Living brings around 40 years of combined building industry experience. Properly licensed and fully insured.

Big volume builders run double storey builds through a department for each stage. Site supervisor for the slab, another for the frame, someone else for handover. At Oakridge Living, the project manager IS the builder. You get the same face from first site visit through to the day we hand you the keys.

That matters more on a two-storey build than almost any other job. There are more trades involved, more inspection points, more chances for a small detail to get lost between handoffs. Single point of contact removes most of that risk.

Whether it's the steel sizing for the upper floor framing, the waterproofing on the second-storey balcony, or how the staircase ties into the structure, we build it the way we'd build it for our own family. We're trade-qualified builders with licensed carpenters on the team. The kind of crew who knows when to slow down and ring the engineer rather than guess.

Council and energy compliance:we coordinate the certifier and the energy specialist

Engineered slab and structural framing rated for two storeys

Building double storey in North Brisbane and the surrounds

A lot of our double storey enquiries come from families in Strathpine, Kallangur, Petrie, Brendale, Albany Creek, Caboolture, Morayfield, Narangba, North Lakes, Mango Hill, Griffin, and Murrumba Downs. The story is almost always the same. The block is good, but it's narrower than the old quarter-acres, and the family needs room for four bedrooms plus a study plus a media room.

We also build double storey through Samford, Dayboro, Ferny Grove, and The Gap, where the slope of the land often makes a two-storey design a better and more cost-effective option than cutting and filling a single-storey footprint.

Up through the Kilcoy region, Mt Mee, D'Aguilar, and Woodford, we'll happily look at double storey acreage builds where the view warrants the second-storey living spaces.
