This means the person overseeing your build has the knowledge, experience and accountability to make informed decisions, coordinate trades effectively and maintain exceptional workmanship throughout every stage of construction.

Question 6

What deposit is required to start building?

To get started, we require an initial deposit to cover preliminary costs such as site assessments, surveys and other investigations needed to prepare your plans. This deposit typically ranges from approximately $5,000 to $10,000, depending on the scope of your project and the investigations required. Once your plans, pricing and documentation have been finalised and you're ready to proceed to contract, a further deposit is payable in accordance with QBCC requirements, which is typically 5% of the contract price.

Can I see the full dimensional plans before I commit?

Absolutely! We can send you our dimensional floor plans, facade renders and standard inclusions list. Just drop us an enquiry or give us a call and we'll get those out to you straight away.

Question 8

Can I make changes to one of the standard plans?

Accepted Answer

Yes, our plans can be modified to a degree. While some changes are straightforward, others may depend on engineering or design constraints. Get in touch with our team and we can talk through what's possible for the plan you have in mind. Alternatively, if you're looking for something completely your own, we also offer a full custom home service.

Can I supply my own items?

Flexibility is an important part of our building process. Where appropriate, we can accommodate owner-selected products and finishes, provided they meet applicable standards and project requirements. All nominated items should be confirmed before contracts are finalised and supplied in accordance with agreed construction timeframes.

Site visits with your builder are scheduled at key milestone stages throughout the construction process. You're welcome to request extra visits beyond these, but please keep in mind that the builder needs to be present due to licensing requirements.

Does Oakridge Living provide warranties?

We stand behind the quality of our workmanship and are committed to supporting our clients well beyond handover. Following completion, homeowners benefit from a 12-month maintenance period, allowing any minor settlement or maintenance issues to be promptly addressed. For added confidence, every home is covered by Queensland's 6-year, 6-month structural warranty requirements. We also select trusted building products from reputable manufacturers that offer their own long-term warranties, providing further protection for key elements of your home.

Does Oakridge Living offer landscaping?

Landscaping is not included as part of our standard turnkey package. However, we are happy to provide landscaping works as an optional addition and can incorporate these into the contract price to deliver a more complete solution.
