Single storey home builders in Brisbane
Looking for single storey home builders in Brisbane who'll quote you straight and stay with the job from slab to handover? Oakridge Living is a family-run builder working across Brisbane through to the Sunshine Coast, and single storey is the most common build we put on the typical suburban block in our area.
Why choose Oakridge Living for your single storey home
“The project manager IS the builder. Same face from the first site visit through to the day we hand over the keys.”
There's a reason. Most suburban lots through Strathpine, Kallangur, Caboolture, Narangba, North Lakes, and Mango Hill are level enough and wide enough that going up isn't necessary. A well-designed single storey gives you the family footprint, the open-plan kitchen and living, and a yard the kids can use, without the cost or complexity of stairs and upper-floor framing.
We are properly licensed and fully insured, with around 40 years of combined building industry experience behind the team.
The project manager IS the builder. You don't get lost in a big builder system. Same face from the first site visit through to the day we hand over the keys. On a single storey build, that means the person who walked the block with you also signs off the slab pour, frame inspection, and final handover.
Every decision is made the way we'd make it on our own family home: the slab thickness, the frame timber, the waterproofing, the way the eaves are detailed.
Lower overheads than the big volume builders, combined with long-standing trade and supplier relationships, means more of your budget reaches the build. That's where you feel the difference five, ten, fifteen years in. We're trade-qualified builders with licensed carpenters on the team. People who know when to slow down and ring the engineer rather than guess.

Single storey building across North Brisbane
Most of our single storey work runs across the North Brisbane suburb belt: Strathpine, Kallangur, Petrie, Brendale, Albany Creek, Caboolture, Morayfield, Narangba, North Lakes, Mango Hill, Griffin, Murrumba Downs. These are blocks where the contours are mild, the frontage is workable, and a wide single-storey footprint sits comfortably.
We also build single storey out through Samford, Dayboro, Ferny Grove, and The Gap, where larger lots support a sprawling four or five-bedroom layout. Acreage clients in the Kilcoy region, Mt Mee, D'Aguilar, and Woodford often prefer single storey because the views and the breeze are at ground level and stairs aren't part of the brief.
On narrower blocks, we'll sometimes suggest a double storey or a highset design instead. That conversation happens at the first site visit, not after you've signed.
